New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has announced a thrilling home schedule for the 2025-26 season, with the Black Caps set to face formidable opponents including Australia, England, South Africa, and West Indies. The White Ferns will also feature prominently, hosting South Africa and Zimbabwe in a series of white-ball matches.
The summer action begins with a three-match T20I series against Australia starting on October 1st, setting the stage for an electrifying Trans-Tasman rivalry. Following this, England will visit for a white-ball series consisting of three T20Is (commencing October 18th) and three ODIs (starting October 26th).
The West Indies will then arrive for an extensive multi-format tour, beginning with a five-match T20I series on November 5th. The tour will continue with three ODIs, starting November 16th, and culminate in three Test matches, with the first Test commencing on December 6th.
Meanwhile, the White Ferns, fresh from their participation in the ODI World Cup 2025 in India and Sri Lanka, will play 14 white-ball games at home, starting early next year.
A historic moment awaits as the White Ferns host Zimbabwe for the first time ever in a three-match T20I series starting February 25th. This will be followed by a three-match ODI series, part of the next ICC Women's Championship 2025-29, beginning March 5th.
Adding to the excitement, the White Ferns will also engage in a five-match T20I series against South Africa, scheduled as double-headers alongside the men's fixtures from March 15th to 25th. Additionally, they will play three T20Is against the Proteas Women between March 29th and April 4th.
NZC Chief Executive Scott Weenink expressed his enthusiasm for the schedule, stating, "It's great to welcome such a diverse range of opponents for both the Black Caps and White Ferns, and especially pleasing for NZC to host the first-ever series between Zimbabwe and New Zealand women."
He further highlighted the doubleheaders against South Africa, offering fans a unique opportunity to witness top-tier male and female cricketers in action. Weenink emphasized the importance of building the home summer around the ICC Men's T20 World Cup and the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, providing players with a platform to shine on the global stage and in front of their home fans.
Pace bowler Kyle Jamieson echoed the sentiment, describing the upcoming season as a "marquee summer." He emphasized the constant challenge posed by the high-caliber opposition and the excitement of playing another three-Test series at home, hoping for strong fan support.
